Brendan Rapp will be running for the Secretary position - bio below
I would like to be considered for the position of Secretary on the board for the Mid-Atlantic GCSAA chapter. I have been working at courses in the Mid-Atlantic area for the past 21 years. I have spent the past 4 years as Superintendent at the University of Maryland golf course. Prior to my time there I was Assistant Superintendent at Manor Country Club for 10 years. I graduated from the Institute of Applied Agriculture in 2005. I have had the opportunity to be a part of 2 complete course renovations and work closely with both cool and warm season grasses. I currently live in Rockville, Maryland with my wife and my 7 month old boy. I like the direction that the association is heading and feel it is my time to step up and give back.
Josh Fuhrman will be running for the Director position - bio below
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry then followed my passion for turf to receive a Turf Management Certificate from Michigan State University. I began my career as the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent at Caves Valley Golf Club for 8 seasons. I gained a Golf Course Superintendent position at Patriots Glen National Golf Club in 2015 before moving to The Golf Club at South River in Edgewater, MD in 2017. I am an active member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America, the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Golf Course Superintendent Association of America, as well as the United States Golf Association. I am very excited for the opportunity to join the MAAGCS board of Officers and Directors in 2019.
