Event Overview
The MAAGCS Annual Championship is one of the year’s premier events, bringing members together for a day of competition, camaraderie, and celebration. The tournament will determine the MAAGCS Champion Golfer of the Year, with players competing across multiple divisions.
In addition to great golf, the Championship offers valuable networking, outstanding food and refreshments, exciting prizes, and plenty of fun with friends and colleagues. Whether you’re chasing the title or simply enjoying the experience, this event promises a memorable day on the course.
Host Club: Mt. Vernon Country Club
This year’s Championship will be hosted at Mt. Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia, a beautiful and challenging course that showcases the best of the region. Nestled along the Potomac River, Mt. Vernon offers a classic layout with tree-lined fairways and scenic views that create both a fun and demanding test of golf. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and strong traditions, the club provides the perfect stage for this marquee event.
We’re also fortunate to have MAAGCS Past President and Mt. Vernon Director of Agronomy, Chris Sandels, serving as host for this special occasion.

The Annual Championship will kick off in the morning with registration and a specialty cocktail bar featuring Bloody Marys, Transfusions, and Screwdrivers. Once everyone is checked in, players will head out for a shotgun start and lunch. Following play, the day will conclude with an awards and networking reception, complete with food, drinks, and plenty of time to celebrate with friends and colleagues. Exact times will be announced soon.
