- Position Title: Outside Sales Representative
- Territory: Baltimore, MD / Washington, DC
- Job Type: Full-Time
- Compensation: $85,000 – $120,000 base salary, plus commission and performance incentives
- Primary Focus: New business development and account growth within lawn care, landscape, and commercial turf markets
- Product Focus: Kress Commercial equipment, along with fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products
- Travel: Regular travel within assigned territory required
- Work Environment: Field-based role with in-person customer interaction
Role Description
Fisher & Son is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to build and grow our presence in the Baltimore / Washington, DC market.
This role is focused on developing new business and establishing long-term customer relationships across lawn care, landscape, and commercial turf accounts. The position will lead with Kress Commercial equipment to introduce new customers and expand into full-service programs including fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, relationship-driven, and comfortable managing a territory with a high level of independence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new business within the Baltimore / Washington, DC territory
- Build and maintain strong relationships with lawn care companies, landscape contractors, and commercial accounts
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and on-site customer visits
- Introduce and grow Kress Commercial equipment solutions
- Expand accounts into recurring programs (fertilizer, seed, and plant protection products)
- Manage territory activity, pipeline, and sales performance against goals
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Turf Management, or related field)
- Equivalent professional sales experience will be considered in place of a degree
- Industry experience in turf, landscape, or equipment is a plus
- Industry certifications or continuing education in turf, agronomy, or equipment are a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of sales principles, customer relationship management, and territory development
- Proficiency with basic business tools (Microsoft Office, email communication)
- Ability to quickly learn technical product knowledge and effectively communicate value to customers
Experience Requirements
- 3–5+ years of outside sales experience (B2B preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience prospecting, developing, and closing new business
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Experience managing a territory and prioritizing sales activities
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Experience conducting product demonstrations and in-field customer visits
- Turf, landscape, or green industry experience required
- Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into effective product solutions
- Experience working independently with a high level of accountability and time management
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously
- Candidates without formal sales experience may be considered if they have relevant industry experience and demonstrate strong communication skills, work ethic, and a desire to build a career in sales

Special Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel regularly within the Baltimore / Washington, DC territory
- Willingness to conduct in-person customer visits, product demonstrations, and ride-alongs
- Ability to lift and transport equipment for demonstrations (up to 50 lbs)
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexibility to attend occasional early morning, evening, or industry events
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to work independently in a field-based role
- Professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company in front of customers and partners
